Free Website Promotion: Tools I Use to Promote a New Site

This evening I wanted to share with you some simple (but sometimes time consuming) methods I use to promote one of my new websites. All of these methods can help you get indexed by google quickly, get some traffic flowing to your sites, and start building backlinks.
RSS Submission
The first thing I do after setting up a new site and adding a bit of content to it, is to submit the RSS feed to several of my favorite RSS submission services. My favorites include:

Feed Ping Free Website and Blog Multiple Submission Service
I also use these services to submit my EzineArticles Author RSS feed, Delicious individual tag RSS feeds, and any other RSS feed i can get my hands on that has links to my articles or content.
Free Ad Blogs
The next method that I use to get indexed quickly and get (welcome) backlinks is to post an article with links back to my website at the following sites:

Welcome to ArticleMarketingAutomation.com (Paid Service – distributes hand spun articles to several topic specific blogs)
Article Directories
Most marketers find that their biggest source of traffic comes from article directories.
- Submit as many articles as possible to EzineArticles.com . Can you write 5 a day? 10 a day? Can you outsource 50? Whatever you can do, just do it and get those articles on the web.
After submitting to Ezine Articles, I like to schedule all of my articles to be posted on my new site (if it’s a blog), one article a day. This is very natural and active to google, making your site more appealing to the search engines, and allowing your site to get crawled for content more often by google.
Then I take my articles (the origina, not rewritten) and post them to other popular article directories such as: Buzzle, Go Articles, ArticleBase, ArticleDashboard, etc.
Social Bookmarking
Social Bookmarking comes in at the top of my list for getting indexed by google and beginning the traffic flow. Here are some of the sites that I regularly bookmark my websites with:

Clipmarks – What are you finding on the web?
reddit.com: what’s new online!
Mixx – Latest news and top videos and photos from around the web
ListYourPost – Do follow Social Bookmarking site
LinkWheel Building
